The Illuminate Light Show at The Meadow Event Park offers one and a half miles of holiday light displays with over one million LED lights. The display includes 50-foot Christmas trees, dancing snowmen, and an 80-foot light tunnel. You can use your car radio to listen to synchronized music. The display is open nightly from 5:30 pm to 10 pm.
Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond
The Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is a walk-through light display with a one-way path this year. It will be open between November 23, 2020 and January 10, 2021. While some activities and displays from the past aren’t available, the unicorn, peacock, and dragon are included in this year’s display. This year an outdoor train display has been added. Tickets must be pre-purchased online for specific appointment times. Tickets will be quickly scanned indoors. Indoor dining has been reduced and is by reservation only. The display is open nightly from 4 pm to 10 pm.
Celebration in Lights in Newport News
The Celebration in Lights located in Newport News was Virginia’s first drive-through light display originating all the way back in 1993. It will be opened from November 26, 2020 through January 1, 2021. It stretches two miles and features over 350 displays including over 50 arches and more than one million individual lights. It is open nightly from 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm.
Iluminights Explore Park Winter Walk of Lights in Roanoke
The Winter Walk of Lights is a half-mile wooded walking trail with over 500,000 lights. You can also shop artisan crafts, roast marshmallows, and participate in other family activities on special nights. The light display is open from November 25, 2020 through January 2, 2021 from 5 pm to 10 pm.
Winter Walk of Lights at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna
Meadowlark’s Winter Walk of Lights features a Fountain of Lights with a variety of colors and patterns, small wire light displays, animals accompanied by sounds of nature, fish spraying water, nearly 100 flowers, a “sing to me” tree that dances to your songs, and the Lakeside Lights that dance to the holiday music. Tickets must be purchased online for a specific time. The display is opened nightly from 5:30 pm to 10 pm from November 11 through December 11, 2020 and 5 pm to 10 pm from December 12, 2020 to January 3, 2021.
